On 27 February, professors and students of SMTU took part in a webinar with representatives of Indonesia`s Gadjah Mada University.

Prof. Mohammad Noer Ilman reported on the research by the Welding Department, including welding of ship and aircraft structures, corrosion problems of welded joints. Dr. Rudolf Korsmik (Head of the Technology Department, ILIST), spoke about industrial laser and additive technologies in shipbuilding and shiprepairing.

Prof. Olga Klimova-Korsmik (Head of the Materials Research Department, ILIST) reported about research in additive technologies. Indonesian colleague Prof. Alva Edi shared his experience in science activity of the Mechanical and Industrial Engineering Faculty in the field of 3D printing of composite biomaterials for medical purposes.

More than 80 Indonesian and Russian students and professors participated in the webinar.

Сooperation and student exchange agreements were signed between SMTU and the Faculty of Engineering of Gadjah Mada University in 2022. The parties decided to continue cooperation in research, educational programs, student exchanges and publications.
