Please start with filling in the application form. You can find the form online application form or request it from the International Office inter@SMTU.RU. After you get a response from the Admission Manager, please send the following documents via e-mail:

  • Scan of your international passport photo page. If the current expiration date appears on another page, please make a copy of that page as well. your passport should be valid for at least 18 months beyond the date of your intended date of arrival.
  • documents confirming your previous education with an authorized translation into Russian. You can validate translation at the Russian Embassy or Consulate in your country or notarize it in your country if Russia has signed Agreement on legal support with your country.   • Medical certificate in Russian (or with Russian translation) confirming absence of HIV and your FLG and obligatory immunization.
  • You will have to acquire a medical insurance policy for the entire period of your stay in Russia. You can purchase it upon arrival for the entire period of your stay. However, it might be a better option to purchase a policy for the initial (examination) period in your home country.

All candidates pass entry tests in accordance with the Acceptance Rules of the particular academic year.  Currently, these are exams in mathematics and the Russian language.  You can find the list and schedule of entry tests here http://www.smtu.ru/file/pages/509/paspisanie_ispytaniy_bak_spec.pdf

All tests are in Russian.

International students study in the same groups with their Russian fellow students.  The only exception is the Bachelor’s degree program in the 26.03.02.11 specialization: “Shipbuilding, ocean and system engineering for marine infrastructure facilities”.  Students of this specialization study in special groups with additional intensive Russian language courses.
